I am wrapping challenged. I can hand-bind books from scratch and create entire invitation packages, but for some reason, me and that thin festive paper just don’t get along. So this year I decided I either have to convince my wonderful husband to take on all the wrapping (he’s really very good) or come up with an alternate method. I did some research and found some really beautiful ideas:

My best friend’s birthday is coming up, so I’ve been scouring Etsy to find her the perfect bday gift…

Here’s what I have so far:

i’m sure mosts blog posts that start with this title are followed by a list of complaints. i’m having the opposite problem. we have worked really really hard to have an amazing marriage. he’s my favorite person in the world and thinking about how much i love him instantly brings on the tears. so i’ve been feeling the urge to show him how much i love him. and i’m trying to write a song. now i have trouble expressing myself correctly. i’m very clinical with my writing…like i’m writing an essay: loving hubs – part I. lol.

hopefully i’ll get it right someday.

why is it that this little word means a whole mess of crap? i can usually deal pretty well, but today…today i want to be left alone. i’m cringing each time the phone rings. i want to close down my email. i want to throw my cell phone. i don’t want to hear the words mommy. i just want to be left with my music, my blue tank pjs and crank on some work in my pretty purple office. cool breeze coming through the window…just nice and peaceful and constructive.

so i’ve been trying to be more assertive. so far so good, but why after i do this do i feel guilty or embarrassed? there is a line where asserting yourself becomes bitchy and dramatic and i’m scared to cross that.

just my thoughts
